The Dragon Desk Tapes have been stored in our vast underground vault for many decades now.
It's time for their day in the sun. They are cassette tapes that were recorded at the mixing desk as we played and, as such, they sound very rough and ready. They are a true record of what happened on the night. They start and stop in weird places and are full of instances where the band starts dicking around and drifts off topic.
They are transferred from a Nakamichi LX-3 cassette deck to Protools and run through EMI Abbey Road plug-ins and exported as mp3s.
Thanks to the splendiforous wonders of the interweb it is now possible to exhume these historical artifacts and set them loose to end up where they may in the 21st century.
Expect to see anything from any era in this category.
There are live tapes from the 70s, 80s and 90s right up to current shows.
We will also include demo tapes and other oddities that were made in lounge rooms in Auckland and Sydney.
They are one long file. don't expect seperate songs, they are a record of the night in a continuous run.
We don't expect many people to be interested in them but it does tie in with our drive to make everything possible available online.
